Job Description

Job title: Gardner (Full Time)

Location: Freelands Croft Care Home, Redfields Lane, Church Crookham, Fleet, GU52 0AD – 22 hours

Oakcroft House Care Home, Oakcroft Road, West Byfleet, KT14 6JG – 18 hours

Salary: £11.80 – £12.80 per hour

Contract: Permanent – Full Time

 

*Please note that this full time role will be split between the two care homes, so you must be able to travel to both

You’ll help us make health happen by:

Maintaining all grassed areas including mowing, trimming, weed control, repairs and feeding.
Ensuring all trees and shrubs are maintained, including trimming, pruning, and assessing stability.
Maintaining all flower beds, boarder plants, hanging baskets and potted plants.
Providing general maintenance, including sweeping and weed removal on all paved areas, removing any litter and raking leaves.
Responsible for keeping the tool sheds and storage areas tidy and maintaining all garden equipment and tools.
Supporting the Maintenance Operative as required with decorating duties and basic maintenance support.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

You have a minimum of 3 years hands on experience in grounds maintenance and a passion for gardening. Experience within a large commercial estate, knowledge of horticulture statutory requirements and a gardening or horticultural qualification would be advantageous. Friendly and approachable, you have excellent customer service skills and an ability to work well as part of a large team. With a practical ability and experience in painting and decorating, you’re happy to help the wider team as required.
