Impact Futures and The Childcare Company are delighted to announce that we have a prominent brand new opportunity for a passionate individual to join our Quality Team as our hybrid-based Head of Product Innovation and Instructional Design.

Please note this role will require occasional travelling for team meetings.

The Role
As the Head of Product Innovation and Instructional Design, you will lead the strategic development and continuous improvement of educational products and commercial offerings. This role combines innovative product development with high-quality instructional design to ensure our learning solutions are engaging, impactful, and aligned with market demands. You will collaborate across teams to drive product strategy, manage development pipelines, and enhance learner experiences through dynamic, evidence-based resources.

The role will involve:
– Product Strategy & Development: Lead the end-to-end process for developing and enhancing educational products, from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and market needs.
– Instructional Design Leadership: Oversee the design and delivery of engaging, effective, and accessible learning content, incorporating best practices in instructional design, digital learning, and pedagogical frameworks.
– Innovation & Market Trends: Identify and integrate emerging trends in education technology and instructional design to maintain a competitive edge.
– Project Management: Manage the product development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality learning products within budget.
– Reporting & Insights: Provide regular updates and data-driven insights to senior leadership on product performance, learner engagement, and market trends.

This is a remote working working with some required travel for learner observations.

About You
Essential:
– Proven experience in managing product development and instructional design within the education, training, or EdTech sectors
– Strong understanding of pedagogical models, digital learning tools, and instructional technologies
– Demonstrated ability to lead product innovation and manage complex projects from concept to delivery
– Strategic thinker with a learner-centric approach and commercial awareness
– Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), eLearning authoring tools, and digital content platforms
– Understanding of user experience (UX) design in educational context
Desirable:
– Experience in apprenticeship, vocational education, or commercial learning products
– Knowledge of integrating products with platforms like Aptem
