Salary: £31,125 pa
Location: Ribblesdale
Shifts Patterns: 6am-2pm, 10pm-6am, 2pm-10pm, 9am-5pm, 11am-7pm. A Saturday in a rota (of 5) 6am-2pm.
Purpose of the role
Manage day to day operation of the weighbridge function and transport plan. Management of resource available at relevant sites and depots under their control.
Key accountabilities
Processing of vehicles and resources on a daily basis.
Maintaining relevant data base records for all resource requirements
Ensuring that the centralised transport plan is satisfied.
Ensuring drivers work to the instructions and procedures as detailed in the drivers folder
Day to day management of drivers
Liaising and communicating with other departments including maintenance facilities, works and central planning office.
Good industrial relations are maintained including disciplinary procedures and actions.
Ensuring that company vehicles are kept in a clean condition inside and out.
Carry out any required site inductions.
Following all IMS procedures relating to his/her own work activities
Ensuring that any customer complaints are recorded and investigated.
Ensuring that all drivers tachographs are analysed
To manage fleet resource as well as driver resource to ensure that all are used in a cost effective and efficient manner on a daily basis
Liaise effectively with customers, drivers and other associated departments to ensue efficient on time processing of deliveries
Job requirements
Knowledge of transport legislation
Ability to manage a team of drivers
Strong computer literacy and skills
Ability to prioritise and make decisions, with discretion
Good communicator and team player at all levels.
Flexible and committed approach and the ability to work rotating shifts
Education/Qualification
Computer literate
Knowledge and understanding of working time directive with regards to driver tachograph hours
Numerate and literate
