Join our dedicated team at The Early Learning Camp where we are committed to providing inclusive and supportive early childhood education. We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate individual for the role of Nursery SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to support the unique needs of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We are a Gold WincKs award accredited setting for our SEND provision.
Position Overview: As the Nursery SENCO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all children, regardless of their individual needs, have access to high-quality education and support. Working closely with parents, staff, and external agencies, you will oversee the provision of tailored support and interventions to promote the development and well-being of children with SEND.
Responsibilities:
•Act as the key point of contact for parents/carers and external agencies regarding SEND support.
•Lead the identification, assessment, and planning of support for children with SEND.
•Work collaboratively with the nursery team to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
•Provide guidance, training, and support to staff on best practices for supporting children with SEND.
•Maintain accurate records and documentation related to SEND provision and progress monitoring.
•Stay abreast of current legislation, research, and best practices in the field of SEND.
Requirements:
•Level 3 Childcare qualification with SEND experience.
•Previous experience working with children with SEND, preferably in an early years setting.
•Knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks (e.g., SEND Code of Practice, EYFS).
•Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
•Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity.

This is a 8am-4pm 35 hours a week basis, 51 weeks of the year
