Salary: £42,595 to £55,045

The Role

You will be required to support internal and external customers with Generator and Exciter installations, inspection, maintenance, fault finding & repairs including Minor Repair works through to full Rewinds. This position requires technical competence in reading and interpreting engineering documents. Key responsibilities include:

· Interpretation of Electrical Winding Diagrams.

· Understand Winding Processes and Methodology and apply correct solutions on inspections & repairs.

· Work under strict Foreign Material Exclusion rules.

· Perform Fault Finding on windings

· Assist with Diagnostic tests such as Iron Core Low Flux Tests, Electrical tests, Doppler Flow water Measurements

· Strip and Inspect Generator Rotors, Stators and Exciters including clean repair and rebuild.

· Rewind Generator Stators, Rotors and Exciters

The Candidate

You must have experience of carrying out work on heavy duty generators ideally 2MW to 1800MW. You will also have the following skills, experiences and attributes…

· Ideally you will hold a recognised Time served Apprenticeship in Armature Winding of Heavy electrical machines

· As a minimum must be a time served Fitter

· Extensive knowledge of Brazing Techniques

· Basic knowledge of Electrical Testing

· Must have experience of working on Generators
