Altum Consulting are partnering with a passionate, purpose-driven charity in their search for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to help guide and strengthen our financial operations during a period of change and transition.

As Interim Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring financial stability, strong reporting, and compliance across the charity. You will be tasked with delivering timely and accurate reporting, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring timely monthly management accounts, reconciliations, and reporting

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

  • Prepare for and liaise with external auditors on year-end accounts

  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and charity-specific financial requirements (including Charity SORP)

  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decisions

  • Implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

  • Recent hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – essential
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller

  • Strong understanding of Charity SORP and financial reporting for charities

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, mission-led environment

  • Able to hit the ground running and lead through change
