Reed Finance are proud to be partnering with a forward-thinking and ambitious organisation in their search for a qualified Head of Finance to take on the most senior finance position within the business. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to step into a leadership role with flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to influence the company’s future direction.
About the Role:
As the Head of Finance, you will be the key financial decision-maker in the organisation, responsible for both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning. Your role will include:
- Full ownership of the finance function, reporting directly to the CEO
- Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts and board-level financial papers
- Oversight of bank reconciliations, payroll, and cash flow management
- Leading the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring compliance
- Attending and contributing to Board meetings, offering clear financial insights and recommendations
- Working closely with the CEO to identify and assess growth opportunities, investment decisions, and financial strategy
- Managing and mentoring a small finance team, including two Accounts Assistants
- This is a hands-on role that combines operational excellence with strategic leadership. You’ll be instrumental in shaping financial policy, improving systems and processes, and supporting the organisation’s growth ambitions.
About You:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) – essential
- Demonstrated experience in a senior finance role, ideally within an SME or entrepreneurial environment
- Strong technical accounting skills with a commercial mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently and leading a small team
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a passion for driving improvement and growth
