The Department of Psychiatry is based on the Warneford Hospital site in Oxford – a friendly, welcoming place of work with an international reputation for excellence. The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry. The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Professor Seena Fazel’s research team and contribute to a BRC-funded data science programme investigating risk factors and developing new prognostic models for adverse outcomes in neuropsychiatric conditions, including epilepsy and traumatic brain injury.

    About the Role

    The post is funded until 31 March 2027 and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.

    You will work with the Biobank team to clarify potential data fields and create dataset, gather, analyse, and present data statistically to develop a prediction model, and manage own research and administrative activities. You will undertake comprehensive and systematic literature reviews, contribute to research publications, and share research findings with colleagues in partner institutions and research groups
    About You

    You will hold a first degree in science, psychology or biostatistics, together with some relevant experience. You will experience of working with electronic health records You will have experience of epidemiological analyses using large datasets. Masters’ Degree in Research or Epidemiology or Biostatistics is desirable.
