Senior Housing Support Coordinator – Young People’s Services

Location: Heckmondwike, Kirklees (WF16)
Salary: £34,033 per annum + excellent benefits
Hours: Full-time (37 hours), permanent, with flexibility including evenings and weekends on a rota basis

The Role

You will support the management of a supported housing service, ensuring young people receive person-centred, trauma-informed support that helps them sustain their accommodation and achieve positive outcomes. The role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, supervising staff, managing referrals and risk, and working closely with external agencies and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the operational management of supported accommodation services.
• Lead, motivate and supervise a team of support staff.
• Oversee referrals, assessments, allocations and support planning.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and service compliance standards are maintained.
• Manage housing-related issues including tenancy sustainment, anti-social behaviour and occupancy levels.
• Develop effective partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector agencies.
• Participate in service rotas, including evenings and weekends where required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience working within supported housing, hostels, homelessness services or other accommodation-based settings.
• UK Driver’s Licence
• Experience supporting vulnerable young people and managing complex needs.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and risk assessment experience.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
