Course Curriculum

The detailed curriculum outline of our Clinical Psychology, Treatment and Therapy course is as follows:

Module 1: Introduction to Mental Health

In module one, we will deepen our understanding of mental health, taking a look at the factors that contribute toward good mental health, the early signs of mental health issues, and mental health statistics in the UK.

Module 2: Perspectives in Psychology

In module two, we will explore different perspectives in psychology, taking a look at person-centred, behaviourist and cognitive approaches, as well as the steps to conducting psychological research.

Module 3: Social Psychology

In module three, we will gain an in-depth understanding of applied social psychology and social cognition, providing a theoretical understanding.

Module 4: Cognitive Psychology and Its Applications

In module four, we will broaden our knowledge of perception, remembering, language, forgetting, thinking and attitudes, exploring topics such as problem-solving and artificial intelligence.

Module 5: Childhood and Adolescent Psychiatric Disorders

In module five, we will develop our knowledge of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, conduct disorder, and mental retardation, including their signs and symptoms.

Module 6: Stress and Anxiety Disorders

In module six, we will explore various stress and anxiety disorders, from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to panic disorder and generalised anxiety disorder (GAD). It includes Theoretical information on their symptoms and impact on mental health.

Module 7: Schizophrenia

In module seven, we will develop our knowledge of schizophrenia disorders and their key characteristics. It covers topics such as hallucinations, delusion, and psychosis, through the guidance of case studies and audio-visual training.

Module 8: Personality Disorders

In module eight, we will explore the different types of personality disorders such as antisocial personality disorder and obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, providing in-depth knowledge of their characteristics and treatment.

Module 9: Mood Disorders

In module nine, we will learn about mood disorders such as bipolar disorder, depression and major depressive disorder (MDD), taking an in-depth look at their key symptoms and characteristics.

Module 10: Eating & Sleeping Disorders

In module ten, we will familiarise with some common eating and sleeping disorders, exploring their characteristics, symptoms and treatment.

Module 11: Self-Harm and Suicide

In module eleven, we will deepen our understanding of the self-harm cycle, exploring the reasons why people self-harm. It also provides Theoretical information on support services and treatments, suicide, self-care and risk factors.

Module 12: Medication and Therapy in the Treatment of Mental Illness

In this final module, we will learn all about the treatment of different mental illnesses and the various forms of therapy, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), talking therapy and counselling.

Certification

Once you’ve successfully completed your Clinical Psychology, Treatment and Therapy course, you will immediately be sent a digital certificate. Also, you can have your printed certificate delivered by post (shipping cost £3.99). Our certifications have no expiry dates, although we do recommend that you renew them every 12 months.

Assessment

At the end of the course, there will be an online assessment, which you will need to pass to complete the course. Answers are marked instantly and automatically, allowing you to know straight away whether you have passed. If you haven’t, there’s no limit on the number of times you can take the final exam. All this is included in the one-time fee you paid for the course itself.
