Library Assistant

• Location: Euston Area, London
• Job Type: Temporary, Immediate Start
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

We are seeking a Library Assistant for an immediate start in a temporary ongoing role based in the basement of the national library in the Euston area. This position requires someone who is physically fit and ready to start as soon as possible.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Assist in the organisation and maintenance of library resources.
• Support the management of book loans and returns.
• Help with cataloguing new acquisitions and disposing of outdated materials.
• Provide assistance to library visitors and help with enquiries.
• Maintain a tidy and organised environment within the library.
• Handle the physical tasks involved in moving and sorting books and other materials.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including using ladders and pushing carts.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Previous experience in a library or similar environment is preferred but not essential.
