The role of the Finance Manager involves preparing and managing high-quality financial reports in line with regulatory standards. You will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy of financial data and supporting the accounting team with technical expertise.

This is a highly recognisable, listed business in the Manchester area. They have gone through a Group transformation over the last 12-18 months and recruited some high calibre individuals into the team.
Description
- Own the end to end process for store impairment testing and other key accounting processes as required.
- Champion the delivery of accounting training across the group and coordination of the accounting policy alignment workstream.
- Process and analyse large volumes of store-level P&L and balance sheet data in the course of performing store impairment testing.
- Review unit accounting processes to establish consistency with group policy.
- Build and maintain relationships with UK and overseas financial reporting teams to ensure successful delivery of key accounting deliverables.
- Support External Reporting, FP&A and other group finance teams in their delivery of key outputs as and when required e.g. financial statements disclosures.
This role requires a blend of reporting expertise, process management, and effective communication to drive successful outcomes.
Profile
The successful Finance Manager should have:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or Equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience applying IFRS accounting policies, preferably including IAS 36.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Attention to detail and effective communication skills with your team, senior management and Group departments.
- This role would suit an Audit Manager from the Big 4/Top 10 firms OR a 2nd time mover with an audit background and subsequent experience in a Group Finance function.
