As part of our continued growth, we’re looking for a newly qualified accountant to join our Group Finance team in a broad and hands-onFinancial Accountant role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone making their first move from audit or accounting practice into a commercial environment where you’ll be given real responsibility from day one.
The Role
This is a varied and progressive position that will give you exposure to both financial reporting and the wider workings of a large, complex business. You’ll play a key part in preparing consolidated accounts, supporting the year-end audit, and improving financial processes, while gaining visibility across group functions including tax, FP&A, and commercial finance.
It’s a great entry point into industry for someone who wants to build a career in a collaborative and high-performing finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end group financial statements
- Own and maintain key balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Support the external audit process, including preparation of audit files and liaison with auditors
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and IFRS standards
- Assist in the preparation of board reports, investor updates, and other external reporting
- Contribute to finance improvement initiatives, including process automation and systems upgrades
- Work with internal teams (tax, commercial, treasury, etc.) to support wider finance activities
- Involvement in ad hoc projects, including sustainability (ESG) reporting, systems implementations, and acquisitions
Person Specification
- Recently qualified ACA (or equivalent) from a reputable practice firm
- Strong technical grounding in IFRS and UK GAAP
- Experience preparing or auditing consolidated accounts
- Highly numerate, with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and keen to learn how finance supports the wider business
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar)
