Job Description

Are you Ambitious, Tenacious, Enterprising?

We are looking for an Academic Tutor specialising in Literacy to support individuals and groups of students to enable access to learning, progress within the subject and achieve academic success. The role includes supporting teachers in whole class lessons when not administering their own 1:1 or group sessions.

Our new colleague will be kind and caring! Here, at Harris Academy Orpington, we have worked hard to create an environment where we look after and care for each other. Whilst being incredibly rewarding, working in schools can sometimes be hard. Colleagues at Harris Academy Orpington know that we work together as a team and we look out for each other; the environment here is one of care, nurture and support along with a bit of challenge!

This role is suitable for graduates with a degree in the subject area, looking to work in a school in preparation for starting teacher training.

Hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm during term time, with some before and after school sessions. You will also be asked to provide some sessions within the school holiday period between 8:00am and 4:00pm.
