We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Head of Risk and Oversight – Investment and Wealth Solutions
The role’s purpose is to devise, control and maintain a sound and safe Investment and Wealth Solutions business for clients and colleagues alike. Its purpose is to identify and mitigate internal and external risks to demonstrate HSBC’s evidenced control of such potential risks through the effective use of our HSBC Risk Framework. This role focuses on the risk mitigation and monitoring of HSBC Expat and HSBC CIIoM across the wealth continuum of Retail Wealth and Private bank.
In this role, you will:
Take ownership of end-to-end Risk and Control Framework for IWS across Retail Wealth and the Private Bank
Lead on the management of all open Helios issues/actions and dispensations raised in relation to the IWS business.
Manage the preparation of papers for key IWS committees. Proactively follow up on action items and ensure completion
Collaborate with other IWS departments to ensure delivery of journeys, platforms and products is in line with risk appetite and relevant controls are in place
Regularly attend all relevant Risk, Customer and Product committees for IWS business to review any new processes, complaint outcomes, and Sales Quality feedback seeking to identify trends and understand root cause analysis.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
Have a demonstrated track record of simplifying and streamlining processes and building/managing a risk and control framework
An evidential track record in Stakeholder Management, with a particular emphasis on Second Line of Defense Functions.
Preferably technical knowledge and broad understanding of a variety of investment products and advice processes, preferably gained from exposure to different jurisdictions and regulations.
The ability to work through challenging situations
Ability to effectively prioritize amongst conflicting priorities
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Depth of exposure and experience within the Product Management industry.
