The Global Tax function has overall responsibility for the Group’s worldwide tax affairs. As trusted partners of our global businesses and functions, the tax team adds value through tax advisory support, business partnering and risk stewardship to the global businesses and functions on tax matters. The Tax team effectively manages tax risk through strong control and governance and stewardship of the businesses, in adherence to group tax risk appetite, and having a talented and engaged global team who lead with integrity.

In this role you will:

 

Ensure effective business partnering and tax advisory support on a broad range of M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions), restructuring, treasury, legal entity rationalisation and strategic investment transactions.
Review and input into legal documentation and proactive management of tax issues and risks.
Carry out tax analysis and provide advice on a range of UK and international tax matters, including external developments impacting the Group’s tax environment such as the Pillar 2 global minimum tax.
Identify and communicate relevant tax issues, identifying opportunities to deliver value to the Group and mitigating tax risk.
Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across the Tax, Finance, Legal, M&A, Treasury and Strategy teams in respect of the management of tax issues and risks and in support of relevant transactions.
Oversee and manage external advisory engagements.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

Strong tax technical knowledge and experience of UK and international tax issues is essential to be considered.
Experience advising on the tax aspects of M&A (including familiarity with tax clauses in sale & purchase agreements), restructuring, and treasury transactions.
Previous experience of managing senior stakeholders is highly desirable.
A proactive self-starter with the ability work within a team.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
A legal background is beneficial but not essential.
This role is based in London, Hybrid.
