About the role
We are looking for an Outreach Evaluation Officer to help us understand and communicate the impact of Imperial’s wide portfolio of targeted STEM outreach activities.
You will join Imperial’s Outreach Team, which aims to support young people from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds to access excellent STEM education and reach their potential. As part of our dedicated Data and Evaluation Team within Outreach, you will work to evidence programme impact, support continuous improvement, and share findings with internal and external audiences.
What you would be doing
As the Outreach Evaluation Officer, you will work closely with the many programme coordinators, managers and administrators within the Outreach team to understand the aims, key evaluation questions, and reporting needs for multiple distinct programmes. Building on your understanding of these programmes, you will use quantitative and qualitative methods to support programme evaluation and work with the wider Outreach team to integrate evaluation into the planning, delivery, and review cycles for each programme.
Within this role, you will be responsible for synthesising multiple sources of information to support sophisticated understanding of how our programmes are making an impact. To make effective use of a broad range of available information, you will need to develop clear evaluation and reporting priorities to direct analysis. You will then apply these insights to support timely and informative communication with key stakeholders, within and beyond Imperial.
What we are looking for
Knowledge of broad toolkit of evaluation methods, and the experience to understand how they apply in different contexts
A people-person who can build relationships with Outreach programme coordinators and managers to anchor evaluation in a real-world understanding of our programmes and participants
A knack for pulling together many complex threads of information and distilling the “so what”
The confidence to take a proactive approach to identifying need and driving evaluation projects forward, and the skills to see them over the line
What we can offer you
The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to continue science for humanity
Benefit from sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 39 days off a year and generous pension schemes)
Get access to a range of workplace benefits including interest-free season ticket loan schemes for travel
Be part of a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work culture with various staff networks and resources designed to support your personal and professional wellbeing.
