About the role
The Research Assistant (RA) will be joining the innovation-focused Bidmos’ lab, where psychological safety forms the foundation of creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge scientific breakthroughs. The RA will support the group leader in the generation of data relating to a MRC-funded program on next-generation vaccines against invasive meningococcal and pneumococcal diseases. In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage with a collaborative, multidisciplinary team while supporting and mentoring others in the lab, all within a dynamic and innovative research environment.

 

What you would be doing
Your work will focus on development of a synthetic cell for the expression of meningococcal ad pneumococcal vaccine antigens, in collaboration with the Elani Group (Department of Chemical Engineering, ICL). Additionally, you will support Dr. Bidmos in matters relating to the translation of the research activities of the group (patent applications, industry partnerships etc).

 

What we are looking for
Strong interest in commercialisation/translation of research
Significant experience in molecular cloning/mutagenesis in coli
Creative approach to problem solving with a high degree of cognitive flexibility
Willingness to enrol for and complete a PhD degree during the Research Assistantship
