About the role
The post is funded by the EPSRC to investigate powder surface properties of crystalline organic solids. The project will develop an understanding of multi-component powder properties and behaviour. The post holder will be part of a team of resaerchers working in this research programme, but will specifically undertake the following tasks; (1) particle synthesis and crystallisation, (2) particle characterisation and (3) powder performance testing.

At the Research Associate leve: To carry out research programmes in particle synthesis and powder characterisation, undertake project management and/or supervise multi-disciplinary teams. The Research Associate will be expected to submit publications to refereed journals and to attract external research collaborations and partnerships.

 

What you would be doing
You will produce independent and original research, specifically in the investigation of multi-component powder and crystalline solid properties, working in an interdisciplinary research group and interact both with academic and industry partners.

You will have the opportunity to disseminate the work in conferences and journal publications.

 

What we are looking for
Applicants must:

Hold, or be near completion, of a PhD in Chemical Engineering.
Experience in crystallisation and particle characterisation techniques.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to write clearly and succinctly.
Ability to plan and conduct high quality research
