About the role
We are looking for aspiring researchers who are interested in pursuing a PostDoc in the area of novel storage technology. The particular project the Research Associate is hired for revolves around DNA storage, i.e., how to store arbitrary information in synthetic DNA. The goal hence is to develop DNA encodings or to define how to map data to DNA while still enabling error free recovery.

 

What you would be doing
To develop new methods to encode data in DNA for different types of access methods
To design how a DNA storage deployment could look in the data centre
To develop encodings which address bit mapping, file mapping and error correction
What we are looking for
A PhD in Computing or Related subjects*
Experience of data analytics
Previous experience in a research laboratory environment related to AI/ML
Knowledge of DNA storage
Knowledge of basic research methods
Knowledge of general laboratory practice, techniques and instrumentation.

Candidates who not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be hired at Research Assistant level: salary scale £43,003 – £46,297 per annum.
