About the role
We are currently recruiting for an Undergraduate Teaching Administrator, based within the Education Office, in the Department of Mathematics.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a professional, hard-working team, who support students in all aspects of their degree programme. You will be working to a high-volume workload, and you will be responsible for assisting with the coordination of an effective and efficient service to the undergraduate students, academic staff and departmental leads, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the modules throughout the academic year. You will be expected to focus on supporting the team’s objectives and be proactive in improving processes and procedures to enhance the student experience.
The Undergraduate Teaching Administrator must have strong organisational and communication skills and be customer service orientated. You will be comfortable balancing multiple deadlines and prioritising effectively. You will have a commitment to providing high quality support and smooth operational delivery of the programme. You will also have the ability to work under pressure, working both independently and within a team. You should have experience working with various IT systems and large amounts of data, as well as excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Previous experience of working in higher education is desirable.
What you would be doing
You will be responsible for supporting the effective and efficient delivery of Mathematics undergraduate programmes.
You will be responsible for supporting the operation, review and development of administrative systems to manage the designated programmes.
You will be required to work flexibly in order to meet demanding service delivery and customer service requirements and to ensure an excellent student experience in the department.
What we are looking for
Experience of teaching and learning support administration, preferably in higher education or similar academic environment.
Excellent IT skills: MS Office packages particularly Excel, Outlook, OneDrive and Power Platforms are essential. And a knowledge of SQL servers, Virtual Learning Environments and Student Record systems would also be desirable.
Ability to work within a team, taking the initiative to deal with unforeseen problems and circumstances.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead, set priorities (both own and other staff) and work to deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with students and staff.
