About the role
An exciting new opportunity is now available in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering overseeing the Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) 3D printing Laboratory, integrating teaching, research, and commercial ventures and providing comprehensive technical support to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
What you would be doing
You will manage all key infrastructure within the laboratory, providing cost information, programming and support for all research projects, including managing industrial projects.
As a key member of the technical management team, you will collaborate closely with the Technical Services Manager, Principal Investigator, and Co-investigators regarding the laboratory’s role in teaching and research.
What we are looking for
You will have an HND (or equivalent) in an engineering subject.
An excellent understanding/background of WAAM/Robotic 3D printing techniques is essential
You will also have an excellent working knowledge of gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) together with an understanding of health and safety practices associated with laboratories/workshop facilities.
