About the role
Applications are invited for a Research Associate in Perovskite Solar cells to carry out research in the fabrication and spectroscopic characterization of perovskite films and solar cells. Research experience in spectroscopy of semiconductor films is key, as well as experience in materials chemistry. You will be expected to work well as part of a team and contribute to the supervision of research and undergraduate students, and with the management of external collaborations.

 

What you would be doing
To take initiatives in the planning of research
To identify and develop suitable techniques, and apparatus, for the collection and analysis of data
To conduct data analysis
To ensure the validity and reliability of data at all times
To maintain accurate and complete records of all findings
To present findings to colleagues and at conferences
To attend relevant workshops and conferences as necessary
To promote the reputation of the Group, the Department and the College
To provide guidance to PhD Students
To conduct and plan own scientific work with appropriate supervision.
To maintain highly organised and accurate record of experimental work
To publish in high quality journals and to present data at meetings
To contribute to the smooth running of the Group’s laboratories
To comply with the College, Division, and Unit safety practices and to attend courses on safety when appropriate.
What we are looking for
Hold a PhD in Chemistry, Physics or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience
Practical experience in processing of perovskite films and solar cell devices
Experience in transient optical spectroscopy.
Practical experience in perovskite chemistry
Knowledge of photophysics of solar cell materials.
A proven publication track record commensurate with career stage.
Research experience in spectroscopy of semiconductor films is key, as well as experience in materials chemistry. You will be expected to work well as part of a team and contribute to the supervision of research and undergraduate students, and with the management of external collaborations.
