Mobile Engineer (AP Lead)

As a Mobile Engineer (AP Lead), you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the condition of Government Property Agency (GPA) buildings, working alongside the site-based HVAC and Fabric engineers.
Job Description
As Mobile Engineer (AP Lead), you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and delivering additional project works as required, ensuring the buildings remain fully operational and aligned with high-quality standards.

This role covers four to five key sites, with the primary hub of work at Companies House in Cardiff and Capital Tower.

Additional responsibilities include weekly visits to complete PPMs at sites in Swansea and Carmarthen, with the Carmarthen office being a newly refurbished, modern workspace offering a pleasant environment to manage.

Due to the nature of the sites, SC Clearance will be required for any successful candidate. This position provides an opportunity to work within secure and dynamic environments, contributing to essential services that support government operations.

Key Responsibilities
Survey sites where electrical systems are installed
Draft electrical installation plans and technical diagrams
Install, maintain, modify and repairing all electrical systems in public spaces and buildings
Ensure that electrical systems adhere to the national electrical safety standards and regulations
Supervise ongoing electrical system installations and providing technical expertise to installation teams where needed
Use blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete projects
Complete work orders and recording materials that are used on the job
Identify electrical problems and repairing them
Advise the company’s management when to replace aged electrical equipment to prevent hazards
Conduct general electrical systems maintenance and troubleshooting electrical issues with testing equipment
Take responsibility for work and actions to show care
Demonstrate honesty to show respect to colleagues, the client and work
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Ideally electrical PPMs and Service experience within the Facilities Management sector
Ideally have experience in high secure environments due to the vetting but will look at any background with Electrical quals
If you have held LV or HV AP status this would be ideal, but training will be given
