The Role
To provide a high-quality portering service to patients, staff and visitors. These duties may be carried out both in patient and non-patient environments.
To carry out planned and reactive tasks involving the movement of patients and a range of goods, laundry and equipment efficiently and effectively ensuring the safety and consideration of patients, staff, visitors, and all users of NHS Lanarkshire services are adhered to.
To undertake all duties having regard for patient needs / service requirements and the required service standards agreed. Ensure the safety and consideration of patients, staff and visitors always whilst performing tasks.
To move patients in line with the request assisting clinical staff with the transfer of patients to trolley and bed, always using appropriate equipment with care and respect.
To be courteous, helpful, polite to all patients, visitors, and staff at all times.
To carry out and always respond to jobs in a courteous and helpful manner.
The post holder may have to work in sensitive situations where discretion, dignity and respect must be always applied.
About You
Applicant must have Full Clean Driving Licence, Good Communication Skills, be flexible, be able to work as part of a team and have Full PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
