We are seeking an experienced and strategic Housing Strategy and Partnership Manager to lead the development and delivery of North Yorkshire’s housing strategy. This pivotal role will place you at the forefront of the region’s housing initiatives, from affordable housing provision to sustainability goals.
The Role:
As the Housing Strategy and Partnership Manager, you will:
Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the Council’s Housing Strategy and action plans.
Work closely with York and North Yorkshire MCA and Homes England in developing a strategic housing pipeline and priorities.
Capitalise on investment opportunities and shape new initiatives and policy responses.
Build and nurture strong partnerships with registered providers, housebuilders, and key stakeholders to ensure collaborative success in housing delivery.
Oversee the delivery of affordable housing across North Yorkshire, including rural and community-led housing projects.
Drive sustainability efforts, ensuring that policies align with the region’s net-zero and environmental ambitions.
Manage budgets effectively, secure external funding, and represent the Council in national and regional forums such as Homes England and local housing partnerships.
Lead a high-performing team, ensuring operational excellence while maintaining a focus on strategic priorities.
What You Will Bring:
Extensive experience in housing policy, legislation, and strategy development.
Proven leadership abilities, including team management and budget oversight.
Strong expertise in partnership working, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation.
A strategic mindset with a track record of delivering results on operational objectives.
A relevant professional qualification (e.g., housing, planning, or related field) and/or significant experience in a similar role.
