Geo Environmental Associate Director

We are looking for an Associate Director to join our Environmental Compliance and Ground Engineering Team in several locations across the UK.

RPS projects are all around you. We define, design and manage projects that create shared value to a complex, urbanising and resource-scarce world. Our people are our success. We need people who share our passion on solving the problems that matter. With us, you’ll find work that is challenging and rewarding, and you’ll be supported every step of the way.

What you’ll be doing:

This is a key position where you will be supporting a team of geoenvironmental specialists delivering desk studies, intrusive ground investigations, GIR / GDR reports, remedial methodologies and validation reports, Material Management Plans, waste management, waste classification, coal mining risk assessments, mineral assessments and high quality development advice.

You will be managing all elements of the delivery of ground conditions and multidisciplinary consenting, due diligence and construction projects across the UK.  You will be managing inputs from initial client engagement (proposals and agreement of terms), throughout the project delivery process (technical delivery, coordination of deliverables, client liaison / care, financial management) for various scales of projects from small scale residential to large construction projects.

You will be coordinating major multidisciplinary and ground conditions related bids.

Key responsibilities:

Given the nature of the role we’re looking for someone who is highly organised, is an excellent communicator, commercially astute and leads projects from the front.  You’ll need a strong technical knowledge of a wide variety of ground conditions assessments and ideally an appreciation of wider disciplines (ecology, archaeology, flood risk etc).  Experience of reviewing and agreeing terms of appointment and management of works under various contracts such as the NEC suite of contracts is highly desirable.

The role would suite someone with significant project delivery experience in a multidisciplinary consultancy, who enjoys varied and interesting projects, is keen to learn and develop and is a natural problem solver.

What’s in it for you?

We will provide you with a competitive salary, opportunities to invest and many other benefits including:  25 days holiday + bank holidays, Option to purchase up to 5 extra days per year,  Company pension scheme, Group Disability Scheme, Share Incentive Scheme, Life Assurance, Cycle to Work Scheme, Health Screening, Employee Assistance Programme (including numerous wellbeing initiatives and mental health support), Dental Cover, Professional Memberships and access to BenefitHub offering discounts, cash back offers and rewards.

We’re an accredited training provider – from entry level to master’s degree level professional qualifications in leadership & management and executive coaching & mentoring, we support learning and development for everyone.

A personal development plan and a transparent career pathway puts you in the driving seat of your career and you’ll be supported as far as you want to go.

We understand the need to work flexibly, with agile offices and hybrid working offered as standard, we’re happy to talk about flexible working. This is a workplace that works for you.

A career here is far from ordinary. Here you’re not a number, you’re part of the solution.
