RPS are seeking a Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Advisor to support the Head of HSEQ in implementing an efficient and standardised Integrated Management System (IMS) that covers Health & Safety, Environment, and Quality in the Water Consultancy Business. Additionally, provide business-wide support for the accountability centres across South England and Wales.

About The Team:

The RPS Asset, Surveying, and Inspection (AS&I) team provides industry leading services to the UK Water Industry and our employees are involved in services supporting Water Networks, Drainage, Surveying, Leakage Consultancy, Water Resources and Efficiency. The team analyse complex data and provide pragmatic solutions. This includes reducing water leakage and preventing flooding and pollution in local communities.

The HSEQ team is to bring employees and managers together to promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment. The RPS Service team’s approach ensures that safety is treated as an integral function of the company. Their primary mission is always to develop and improve working conditions and reduce work-related injuries.

About You:

As a key member of the Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Team, your role as Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Advisor is critical to the support of several contracts ensuring the requirements of the Safety Quality and Environment Management systems. The role will also involve assisting the site teams and managers by recognising hazards and seeking to minimise risks whilst creating, maintaining and improving the health, safety, environmental and Quality standards.

Your Responsibilities:

You will support the Head of HSEQ in ensuring IMS compliance with all UK legislation.
You will support the Head of HSEQ with all IMS-related matters.
You will review all audits, update trackers, and collate clause data for continual improvement, including closing areas of improvement and overdue actions for aligned accountability centres.
You will monitor incidents, investigations, and the closeout of remedial actions to help prevent recurrence within aligned accountability centres.
You will review BU-specific risk assessments with operational teams to identify new/potential hazards and implement preventive measures to mitigate risks within their aligned BU.
You will provide support for new contracts and bids, as well as support existing contracts within Wales and South of England regions.
You will develop weekly snapshot updates and month-end reports across assigned UK operations.
You will conduct contractor onboarding reviews and, where required, provide CDM project updates with regional leads and customers.
You will promote the “BEST” behavioural safety programme throughout regions and provide month-end reports based on previous data sets.
You will undertake other activities commensurate with your skills and experience as required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

You will have previous experience in planning, performing and reporting on audits, together with identifying improvements from lessons learned, monitor corrective action/improvement plans and Business-wide learning.
You will have practical experience with The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
You will have experience and knowledge of RIDDOR reporting, investigation writing and presentation skills.
Qualifications:

You will have a NEBOSH Certificate or higher.
You will have completed of an accredited ISO Auditor training course
You will have a full clean UK driving licence.
