Are you a dynamic and experienced communications professional with a passion for engaging and inspiring staff? Greater London Authority, one of our largest clients based in London are looking for a Senior Change Communication Manager to join their team on a 6-month contract. In this pivotal role, you will develop and deliver comprehensive internal communications plans for both business-as-usual activities and specific projects.

Location: City Hall, E16 1ZE

Contract: 6-month contract, full time, hybrid work, 2-3 days based in office

Pay rate: £31.62 per hour PAYE or £41.17 per hour Umbrella (can go higher)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement internal communications plans and activities.
  • Manage the internal communications forward plan.
  • Provide clear and consistent advice and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Produce, write, and edit high-quality content for key channels.
  • Deliver staff engagement events, including briefings, conferences, and workshops.
  • Measure the effectiveness of internal communications channels and activities and contribute to their improvement.
  • Provide training, support, and guidance to intranet editors across the organisation.
  • Utilise collaboration tools and project management software (e.g., SharePoint, Teams Live, Drupal).
  • Deputise for the Internal Communications and Engagement Manager and support the Internal Communications Officers
  • Design and implement measurable internal communications and engagement plans for specific projects.
  • Offer clear and consistent internal communications advice to staff at all levels across the GLA and the wider GLA group.
  • Plan, write, and edit engaging content for business-as-usual channels, proactively sourcing content and managing sign-off protocols.
  • Contribute to the internal communications forward plan and channel tracker.
  • Produce regular measurement reports for key internal communications channels and recommend improvements.
  • Support staff network groups by promoting their events and activities and advising on tailored communication campaigns.
  • Contribute to intranet development, including providing training and guidance to staff on creating intranet pages and content.
  • Organise and promote staff events, including planning topics, liaising with speakers, and managing logistics.
