Full job description

Description and requirements

At Skanska, we’re shaping the way we live, work and connect. As one of the world’s largest construction and development companies, we work together with customers, communities and partners to shape a better society.

You will be working in the Infrastructure function working on our Anglian Water Project. Through our role in the @one Alliance, we’re helping Anglian Water deliver a £2.6 billion investment in vital infrastructure. From civil works to water treatment facilities, this programme strengthens environmental protection across the East of England – safeguarding water resources for generations to come.

We’re building our 2026 talent pipeline across Skanska UK’s Infrastructure and are seeking planners at every level to help deliver complex, critical infrastructure that connects communities and underpins the UK economy.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead commercial, cost, and contract management across projects, ensuring accurate reporting, strong records, and audit-ready financial control.
  • Deliver safe, high-quality, and compliant process and civil design solutions from feasibility through detailed design and construction support.
  • Produce key technical outputs including calculations, specifications, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and water-sector asset designs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, suppliers, and site teams to resolve challenges and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Drive innovation, efficiency, digital delivery, sustainability, and risk reduction, promoting continuous improvement and low-carbon design practices.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Proven experience in cost/commercial management, with a strong interest in developing a career in Commercial Management.
  • Degree-qualified in Civil, Structural, Chemical, Mechanical, Process Engineering, or a related discipline; chartership ambition is desirable.
  • Good technical knowledge of design principles, engineering standards, structural calculations, and relevant software packages.
  • Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, reporting, and data analysis skills, with the confidence to challenge and improve existing ways of working.
  • Awareness of health, safety, environmental, and sustainability requirements, ideally with experience in the water sector or similar engineering environments.
