About the Role

You will be working with students aged 11–16 who may have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, or additional learning requirements. The role focuses on building relationships, encouraging engagement, and helping pupils access their learning across a range of subjects.

Graduates often excel in this environment due to their subject knowledge, communication skills, adaptability, and ability to model positive learning behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning within KS3 and KS4
• Assisting students on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Helping pupils manage their emotions, behaviour, and routine
• Encouraging engagement in both academic and practical subjects
• Reinforcing learning objectives and assisting with class activities
• Collaborating with teachers and pastoral staff to meet pupil needs
• Being a positive, reliable role model
