Duty Solicitor

• Salary: Dependant on experience

We are seeking a Duty Solicitor to join a Legal 500 law firm in Bedfordshire. The role involves attending police stations as required and offers the opportunity to handle cases with a high level of autonomy.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Represent clients in Bedfordshire and surrounding magistrate courts, mainly in Luton.
• Attend police stations as required to provide legal support and representation.
• Handle cases independently with limited supervision, demonstrating the ability to work under pressure.
• Ensure all legal paperwork and documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Engage in advocacy and manage Legal Aid practice effectively.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing and legal procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Must hold a CLAS qualification.
• No minimum PQE required, but experience in a similar role is advantageous.
• Strong experience in Legal Aid practice and advocacy.
• Proficient knowledge of billing and legal procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage paperwork efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
