Job Description

RISE is Norton Rose Fulbright’s flagship work experience programme, designed to support talented students from underrepresented backgrounds by providing them with the necessary skills, networks and resources to accelerate a career in the legal sector..
Through a combination of skills development, mentoring, workplace experiences, professional networking, and ongoing support, RISE helps students build the confidence, knowledge and connections needed to fulfil their potential. Participants join a community of ambitious young people and gain valuable insight into professional careers, including opportunities within law and other business sectors.
As a RISE participant, you will:
Be enrolled onto a two year development programme with the firm
Attend an in person work experience week in October half term (w/c 26 October 2026) at either our London or Newcastle office.
Complete work shadowing with both our fee earning and business services teams.
Get to know our clients with an insight day at their offices.
Participate in a mock assessment centre.
Receive specialist training from in-house teams including early careers, learning & development and bids.
Join our mentoring programme to develop your commercial acumen with our trainees and clients.
Join us for your graduation day in our London office.
Be paid £500 across the programme. Travel will also be reimbursed.
We’re looking for students who:
Demonstrate ambition, a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn
Are interested in developing their skills and exploring future career opportunities
Are willing to actively participate in programme activities
Are committed to personal development and making the most of the opportunities available
Applicants must:
Be currently studying in Year 12 (or equivalent)
Have attended a state school
Have achieve minimum grade requirements, averaging an overall score of six in your top eight subjects, which must include English and Maths.
Meet at least one of the programme’s social mobility criteria
