About the Role
Dunabr Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Class Teacher to work with KS3 students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly supportive environment, designed for students who benefit from learning outside of mainstream education.
As part of an Ofsted Outstanding provision, you will be delivering personalized education to young people facing challenges that affect their ability to engage in conventional schooling. You will work with a collaborative team committed to improving the lives of students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across a range of subjects to KS3 students with SEMH needs.
Create and monitor individualized learning plans that support both academic and emotional development.
Build positive, trusting relationships with students, families, and external professionals.
Implement effective strategies for managing challenging behavior in a calm and supportive manner.
Use data to track student progress and inform teaching strategies.
Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to provide comprehensive support to students.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an experienced educator who brings warmth, creativity, and resilience to their teaching. You should have experience working with students who present behavioural or emotional challenges and a solid understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly SEMH.
Essential Skills and Qualities:
Proven experience as a classroom teacher, with a track record of working with students with SEMH or behavioral difficulties.
Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and current practices in primary or secondary education.
Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
Skilled in building trusting relationships with students, families, and professionals.
Creative, flexible, and able to think dynamically in response to challenges.
Excellent organizational and data analysis skills to inform planning and progress monitoring.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
