SEND Teacher for ASD Unit
Are you an experienced and passionate SEND Teacher looking for a rewarding role in a specialist environment? We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join a specialised unit catering for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Contract: Full-time, Permanent/Temporary
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
About the Role:
As a SEND Teacher in our specialist ASD unit, you will be responsible for delivering tailored education to students with Autism and ADHD. The unit provides a supportive, structured, and therapeutic environment where every child’s individual needs are met.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons to meet the needs of students with ASD and ADHD.
Implementing structured teaching approaches, including visual aids and sensory support, to facilitate learning.
Supporting students in developing both academic and social skills, promoting independence and confidence.
Managing behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement and personalised strategies.
Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and teaching assistants, to ensure holistic support for each student.
Liaising with parents/carers and other professionals to provide consistent communication and progress updates.
Maintaining accurate records of students’ progress and participating in regular review meetings.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant SEND qualifications.
Proven experience working with students with ASD and/or ADHD in an educational setting.
A strong understanding of the challenges and rewards of working with neurodiverse students.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with students, staff, and families effectively.
Empathy, patience, and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of each student.
Experience in using structured teaching methods such as TEACCH, PECS, or other visual communication strategies (preferred but not essential).
Creativity in delivering lessons that engage students with varying abilities and learning styles.
