Role Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Senior or Associate Planner within the Central Planning team. The successful candidate will be part of a team of around twenty-five working closely with, and reporting to, an Associate Director/Director. The team undertakes a wide range of work promoting strategic land, housebuilder proposals, landowner promotions, appeals, planning appraisals, regeneration and rural work.
This team sits within the Planning Division and sits over two main offices based in Reading and Oxford, covering projects typically within and around the Thames Valley.

Key Responsibilities
Providing planning consultancy advice to colleagues and clients
Reporting to clients and senior colleagues and keeping in regular contact
Attend and report to clients at regular project meetings
Be capable of striving to win some further work for the department (though the primary role is to process existing and new planning work)
Be capable of dealing with instructions and clients alone after an introductory period
Strive to become a single point of contact for clients
Production of reports to support planning applications and appeals
Assistance with/ drafting Local Plan representations, the promotion of sites and support at Examination in Public
Provide assistance to team members wherever possible
Develop and maintain active communication both within your team and other teams
Key Skills
A team player with leadership potential
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
MRICS / MRTPI qualified
Practical understanding of Property
Experience in a similar role (preferably at least 3-6 years planning experience in either public or private sector)
Strategic approach to problem solving
Full driving license and access to your own car for day to day business requirements
Strong, verbal, numerical and report writing skills
Excellent communication skills
